Entrepreneurship

 TAKING ANALYSIS TO IMPACT

A new paradigm of higher education has arrived. Today’s dynamic market drivers are challenging academia in unprecedented ways. Dr. Valli's hybrid experience bridges theory and practice by fostering positive outcomes for outreach and professional development: enhancing student-efficacy, faculty engagement and public/private collaboration. Stewarding interdisciplinary innovation and professional development is the new imperative in building an entrepreneurial mindset.

Navigating this new paradigm necessitates an outreach strategy that embraces emerging market dynamics where public/private partners expect universities to advance analysis towards impact and influence. Dynamic ecosystems whose people, place & purpose harness transformational research and new enterprise, serve to propel cutting-edge innovation toward commercialization.

GLOBAL REACH

Do globalization, knowledge and connectivity represent  the perfect storm? Linking entrepreneurial growth strategy to vibrant innovation ecosystems will drive relevance, reach and respect.  In the book of the same name, three different weather-related phenomena combined to produce a storm of exceptional severity. A thematic approach towards accelerating entrepreneurship focuses on three intertwined themes:

Engage > Connect > Empower

Creating global linkages via 'pull vs. push', will convey a program of attraction, as opposed to promotion. This guiding principle can enrich a University's efforts to attack ‘Big Problems’ on a global scale, while capturing notoriety for the region’s technology cluster phenomenon.

Throughout the past decade, Dr. Valli has forged long-term relations in the Middle East as a lecturer and adviser to a number of entrepreneurs and government policy-makers. Likewise, Dr. Valli’s ties to China has forged relations with government, industry and academia in Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, Hang Zhou, Changzhou and Hong Kong. In the past six months, Dr. Valli has overseen seven client engagements in South Africa; four in Singapore; two in Turkey; one in Taiwan and the Philippines and Russia.  Dr. Valli hosted the Global Commission for Advancing Innovation at King’s College (Cambridge); gathering philanthropists, investors and Chief Scientists from the EU, USA and Israel. In summation, Dr. Valli’s global prowess offers a ‘35,000 ft.’ vantage point to observe best practices in innovation and entrepreneurship.
