Dr. Valli has passed through the gates of three of the top four ranked universities in the world: UC-Berkeley (BA ’82); Stanford Graduate School of Business (SEP ’95); and, Cambridge University (Ph.D ’09).  Dr. Valli’s professional background in both investment banking and technology ventures in the Silicon Valley, policy development at the Kauffman Foundation and academic domain focus offers a unique skill-set. In March, the EU Commission and KTH Royal Institute of Technology invited Dr. Valli to be a keynote speaker at this year’s global conference: Partnerships for Innovation & Socio-Economic Impact: The Entrepreneurial University

Dr. Valli’s Ph. D thesis, Building Investment Readiness for University Spin-Outs through Partnerships & Alliances, underscores his scholarly pursuit of new enterprise creation and development. Currently at the University of Illinois, Dr. Valli co-leads the premier nation's student consultancy (80+ engagements/year) and is the Director of the MBA Global Consulting Program i.e., cornerstones of the College of Business’s professional development and outreach strategy.  In addition, Dr. Valli is the Founder of the world-wide Innovation Immersion Program (IIP), a virtual collaboratory for universities and emerging innovation ecosystems.

As the former Director for Advancing Innovation at the Kauffman Foundation in 2006, Dr. Valli’s exposure to the Silicon Valley and ‘Cambridge Phenomenon’ offers evidence-based experience that spans across the globe. This unique access provided a lens by which to observe the interchange of new enterprise and technology management. These ties have resulted in a significant professional and social network, as well as, a demonstrative degree of tacit knowledge to propel innovation and enterprise towards commercialization.

In the past three years, Dr Valli has has overseen and managed over twenty consulting engagements three consulting engagements in China, Europe Brasil and South Africa; as well as, five to ten projects in each of the following technology clusters Israel, South East Asia and India. As a result, Dr. Valli has forged long-term relations around the globe as a lecturer and adviser to a number of entrepreneurs and government policy- makers. Dr. Valli hosted the Global Commission for Advancing Innovation at King’s College (Cambridge); gathering philanthropists, investors and Chief Scientists from the EU, USA and Israel. In summation, Dr. Valli’s global prowess offers a ‘35,000 ft.’ vantage point to observe best practices in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Valli authored Third Stream Initiatives for Identifying New Revenues for Dominican University and Investors Without Borders, presented to Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia. A forthcoming book entitled CLUSTERNOMICS is underway. Dr. Valli’s academic focus on entrepreneurship and technology management at Berkeley, Stanford, Cambridge and Illinois serves innovators striving to commercialize ideas and build sustainable enterprise. Dr. Valli is an exemplary-ranked lecturer, renowned for nurturing student-efficacy, interdisciplinary interaction and public/private collaboration whose hallmark is building investability.
