Consulting

At the University of Illinois, Robert Valli leads the Illinois Business Consulting Program (IBC), one of the nation’s premiere fee-based university student consultancies. In addition, he is the Director of the College of Business Global Consulting Program (GCP). In addition, he is the founder of the world-wide Innovation Immersion Program (IIP), recently recognized by the European Commission as an exemplary University global collaboration. This operational management experience demonstrates an ability to initiate and execute new programs and processes to navigate through the growing challenges of differentiation in higher education - transforming analysis to impact and influence.

The Innovation Immersion Program (IIP) enhances collaboration between Illinois students and global technology clusters through international consulting projects, networking opportunities, and the development of a Global Technology Cluster Performance Index. IIP students work in international teams to create innovative solutions for clients, culminating in an immersion trip and presentation to tech leaders in Sweden, Israel, and Singapore. 

The Global Consulting Program (GCP) provides Illinois MBA students with an opportunity to engage in consulting projects with companies in emerging markets, such as Brazil, China, India, and South Africa. This exclusive opportunity complements theoretical concepts learned in the classroom and gives students real-world experience. Students work remotely with an international client and travel to the designated country to meet with and present to the client.

An integral component of the UIUC College of Business, Illinois Business Consulting (IBC) is a student consulting organization. Each year, approximately 200 students perform 40-50 projects for Fortune 500, mid-sized, new venture and non-profit clients.
